Jordan Kale Barrett (born 1996 in Tweed Heads, on Australia's east coast) is an Australian fashion model who became one of the most in-demand male faces of the 2010s. He stands 188 cm (6 ft 2 in) tall, with blond hair and green eyes marked by yellow central heterochromia — features that helped make him instantly identifiable on the runway and in editorial photography.
Discovery and Rise
Barrett was scouted at the age of fourteen by an IMG Australia model scout and has been professionally active since 2010. He is represented by IMG in New York and by TESS Management in London. He rose quickly from the Australian modelling scene to the runways of Paris and Milan, becoming a fixture of the men's fashion weeks: during one 2016 season he walked 62 shows across the international collections, and he was named Model of the Year by Models.com that same year. By his early twenties he had become one of the industry's most bookable male models.
Campaigns and Editorial
He has appeared in advertising for Tom Ford, Balmain, Versace, Moschino and Coach — including Balmain's Fall/Winter 2016 campaign, shot alongside Francisco Lachowski and Jon Kortajarena under creative director Kris Van Assche. His magazine work spans CR Fashion Book, Vogue Netherlands Man, Wonderland, Numéro Homme, 10 Magazine and VMAN, the last photographed by Steven Klein in 2015. That year he was also honoured at the GQ Awards, and he has collaborated with the photographer Collier Schorr on an artist's book exhibited at MoMA PS1 in New York.
Personal Life
In August 2021 Barrett married fellow model Fernando Augusto Casablancas in Ibiza, Spain. Widely regarded as one of the breakout male models of his era, he has combined a high-fashion runway and campaign career with a presence in fashion media and contemporary art. His combination of runway ubiquity and high-profile campaign work made him one of the defining male models of his decade.
