No fees to sign
A real agency is paid a commission on the work it books. Registration fees, compulsory paid courses and a mandatory in-house photographer are the standard warning signs.
Look at the board, not the promise
Open the agency's own site and see who it actually represents and which clients those models shoot for. A board full of recent work is worth more than any pitch.
Match the market
High fashion, commercial, curve and talent boards want different things. A mother agency in your city that places you abroad often beats a distant big name.

How are agencies listed and verified on GetModel?+
Every agency profile is compiled from the agency's own website, public rosters and industry press, then reviewed by our editors. Headquarters, founding year, specialties and roster size are cross-checked before a profile goes live, and sources are kept on file for each entry.
How do I contact a modeling agency?+
Open the agency profile: each one lists the official website and social accounts where the agency accepts submissions. Send natural, unretouched photos and your basic measurements — most agencies review new faces through their own online form or an open call.
Do modeling agencies charge fees to join?+
A legitimate agency does not charge you to sign: it earns a commission on the jobs it books for you. Costs for test shoots, prints or your book are advanced and deducted from later earnings, and they must be itemised on your statement. Upfront payment for "registration", a mandatory paid course or a mandatory in-house photographer is the classic mark of a scam.
What measurements and photos do agencies ask for?+
Digitals — front, side and back plus a close-up, no makeup, no retouching, hair down, plain background — together with height, bust or chest, waist, hips, shoe size, hair and eye colour. Height expectations differ by board: high-fashion boards are the strictest, while commercial, curve and talent boards have no single rule, so always follow the requirements on the agency's own submission page.
Does GetModel take a fee for connecting models and agencies?+
No. GetModel does not charge models to browse agencies or apply, and GetModel is free during the launch: each client's first 10 deals carry no commission. Any future commission would apply only to deals concluded through GetModel and would be announced in advance. A legitimate agency earns from your bookings — be wary of anyone who asks for upfront payment for a portfolio or "registration".
