Editorial modeling
Editorial is the fashion-story work in magazines and on the runway. It builds prestige, tear sheets and a designer-facing look — tall, slim, striking — but the day rate is low; models do it for the credibility, not the cheque.
Commercial modeling
Commercial is advertising, catalogue, e-commerce and brand content — anything selling a product. Clients want relatable, expressive, “real customer” faces, height is flexible, and it pays far better than editorial.
Which is right for you?
- Look and stats steer you: runway height and an editorial look lean editorial; a warm, relatable look leans commercial.
- Most careers mix both — editorial builds the name, commercial pays the bills.
