Laís Ribeiro (full name Laís Pereira de Oliveira; born October 5, 1989, in Miguel Alves, Piauí, Brazil) is a Brazilian fashion model best known for her years as a Victoria's Secret Angel. A native of Brazil's northeastern state of Piauí, she had been training to become a nurse before a modelling career took her to the international fashion capitals, and she rose to prominence in the 2010s as one of the most recognisable Brazilian models of her era.
Career and Victoria's Secret
Ribeiro was named a Victoria's Secret Angel in 2015, becoming one of the brand's headline faces during that period, and in the years that followed she walked the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show repeatedly. In 2017 she was chosen to wear the label's Fantasy Bra — the Champagne Nights design, valued at two million dollars and set with hand-placed diamonds, yellow sapphires and blue topaz in eighteen-karat gold. The selection placed her among a small group of models entrusted with the brand's most prestigious runway moment.
Runway, Campaigns and Editorial
Beyond Victoria's Secret she has walked for Dolce & Gabbana, Givenchy and Gucci, and has been represented by leading agencies including Women Management in New York and Paris. Her editorial and commercial work spans Elle, Harper's Bazaar and international editions of Vogue, together with appearances in GQ, Maxim and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Her runway and campaign work has taken her across the fashion capitals of New York, Paris, Milan and São Paulo, and she has been a familiar presence in swimwear and lingerie campaigns throughout her career.
Personal Life
Ribeiro has a son, born in 2008, who was diagnosed with autism in 2013 — a cause she has since spoken about publicly. She married the basketball player Joakim Noah in July 2022 in Trancoso, Brazil, having become engaged in 2019, and the couple had a child in 2024. She has spoken publicly about raising a child with autism and about balancing motherhood with an international modelling career.
