Born on the Navajo Nation, Quannah ChasingHorse is a Han Gwich’in and Sicangu/Oglala Lakota land protector, climate justice activist, and model from Eagle Village, Alaska and the tribes of South Dakota.
Quannah’s deep connection to her homelands and her people’s way of life is her grounding and guiding force. For many years, she has exponentially increased her platform to uplift Indigenous voices, beauty, and representation on a global stage. As an activist, she understands the climate impact of the fashion industry and pushes brands to examine their sustainability initiatives. In 2023, she partnered with The North Face for the film “Walking Two Worlds,” which debuted at the TriBeCa Film Festival and won Best Documentary Short at the Santa Monica Film Festival.
In 2022, Quannah was named to the Forbes 30 Under 30 list and was nominated for Model of the Year by The Fashion Awards. In 2023, she was named one of USA Today’s Women of the Year. She has also been a fixture at the Met Gala, attending for four years in a row.
Through all of Quannah's accomplishments, her most important work is upholding and uplifting her Indigenous values, her people, and her homelands. She stays grounded by making time to connect with her family, her people, her homelands, and with her Indigenous colleagues engaged in fashion and activism.
