    Alex Waltl

    Born in the countryside in southern Germany, Alex discovered his love for capturing hidden moments at an early age. He was only 12 years old when he held his first camera and instantly knew that photography was his calling. Pursuing his dream, Alex attended photography school and quickly found himself in New York assisting world class photographers Annie Leibovitz and Russell James for the years to follow. He was not only known for his creative vision and chiselled photography skills, but also his kindness and tireless hard work. After making a name for himself in NY, he became first assistant to Mario Testino. He spent the next six years travelling the globe with Mario, shooting the biggest commercial campaigns and for the most prestigious publications. Alex’s dedication and love for creating the perfect image was deeply shaped in those years. After years of assisting, Alex decided to go out on his own and now calls Berlin home. He travels to wherever the love of his job takes him and has already shot commercial and editorial for the likes of Charlotte Tilbury, VOGUE, Luisa Cerano, Harper’s Bazaar, S’Oliver, and more, including potraits commissioned by the biggest names in the industry.
