    Andre Cueto Saavedra

    Hairstylist Andre Saavedra was born in Chile, raised in Sweden via the Spanish Canary Islands, and resides in Paris. Needless to say, his was an unconventional upbringing. As a club kid in his youth, he befriended two older hairstylists that to him seemed the 'coolest on earth'. Having just finished his education in fine art, Andre found the tools for self-expression in the cutting, coloring, texturizing and sculpting of hair. He took up an apprenticeship with his new friends in Stockholm's hottest salon, the Klippoteket. Starting to learn his craft, Andre was home, and soon found himself a very successful artist in his own right. Andre has always taken the path less travelled and in short order began pursuing freelance session work in earnest, culminating in a subsequent move to Paris. An avid people watcher, artistic inspiration for Andre often comes from those he meets and works with as well those he sees on the streets. Nature is another rich source of color and shape- though he can also often be found poring over photography and art books in markets and bookstores, or whiling away the hours at gallery exhibitions all around the world. His vision has found many like minded collaborators over the years- he has most recently been tapped by Carine Roitfeld for her CR Fashion Book. Photographers Michael Avedon, Lee Broomfield, and Colin Dodgson have all called on his talents. Tellingly, such blue chip clients as Louis Vuitton and Dior have recently come calling- adding to his growing list which already includes H&M and J.Lindeberg. Never predictable and always surprising, this fresh, refined and singular talent is perfectly positioned to take the industry by storm. Andre Saavedra is a definitive and thrilling new presence in the creative world that he calls home. Andre splits time between New York and Paris.
