    Margherita Maccapani Missoni needs no introduction. Born into one of Italy’s most esteemed fashion families, Margherita has carved out her own niche in the industry with her unique sense of style and entrepreneurial spirit. Honouring her family’s iconic legacy, the designer launched her own brand Maccapani in 2023 – capturing a fresh take on the intersection between fashion and streetwear. Encapsulating the fashion muse’s own fearless approach to dressing, the collection offers a liberating rotation of day-to-night pieces that create movement with the body, which you can mix and match to suit your own individual style. Margherita has followed in her grandparents’ footsteps by using innovative fabrics. Adding lurex to knitwear was in its day ultramodern and she alike has created a cutting-edge Italian jersey which combines comfort and shape. Margherita describes the brand as “easy, versatile and feminine,” Maccapani is a way of thinking and a feeling to be worn, declaring your individuality to the world with strength and lightness. Before brand Maccapani was born, Margherita was the face of Missioni whilst she studied philosophy in Milan and New York. She then went on to pursue theatre and attend acting classes. After returning to Italy to be creatively involved in the company, in 2010 she became Missoni’s accessories director, under her mother Angela Missoni’s creative direction, which lasted for over 20 years. In 2018 she rejoined the family firm to take the helm of M Missoni by becoming its Creative Director, that she held until September 2021. Today Margherita lives in Varese in Italy with her two children Otto and Augusto.
