Biliny Mabil Manyang is a South Sudanese model, humanitarian and founder of Refugee Teens Talk (RTT) — a youth-led initiative empowering refugee girls and young women through mentorship, education, life-skills development and sexual and reproductive health awareness. Since its founding, RTT has supported and engaged over 3,000 girls and women across kakuma refugee camp and kalobeyei settlement including women and young mothers in reception centers through mentorship, empowerment programs and the distribution of sanitary pads and menstrual health support.
Biliny is also the founder of Refugist Magazine, a creative storytelling platform she created to highlight and celebrate the work, creativity and voices of underrepresented refugee artists, youth and community changemakers.
Her community engagement includes collaboration with the Lutheran World Federation (LWF), particularly through Kakuma Got Talent —an LWF-led program supporting youth expression and talent development. Biliny’s work and advocacy have been featured in LWF’s Annual Publication, recognizing her contribution to youth empowerment and refugee community leadership.
She studied Youth Sports Facilitation at the Metropolitan State University of Denver and completed a Screenplay Course with FilmAid International, using storytelling as a tool for advocacy and amplifying refugee voices. Biliny is a member of the Global Shapers Community – Kakuma Hub, where she contributes to conversations on gender equality, youth empowerment and refugee leadership.
Her work reflects a deep commitment to opening doors, challenging barriers and creating spaces where the next generation of women leaders can rise with confidence and dignity.
