Gemma Janes is the founder of Sendb00ks, a literary and art project she launched in 2018. The non-profit publishing house commissions contemporary artists to design detachable sleeves for books that inspire them, creating collectible editions that celebrate the intersection of art, design, and literature. Distributed globally to a network of subscribers, Sendb00ks fosters creative exchange and connection through the sharing of stories.
Her photography and writing have appeared in Apartamento, The Sunday Times, Vogue, i-D, and Office Magazine, and she has curated libraries and hosted events at Yvon Lambert, Left Bank Books, London Design Festival, and Galerie Saint-Anne, among others.
Alongside her publishing work, Gemma operates Private Librarian Services, a bespoke book-curation platform for individuals and brands. She has hand-selected printed matter and reference libraries for leading fashion houses including Lemaire, Maison Margiela and Le Monde Beryl. She has also been featured in Vogue, i-D, and Interview for her distinctive perspective on literature, culture, and style.
