Hoyt Richards is an American model and actor who was discovered in the mid-80’s and quickly rose to prominence as one of the most recognizable faces in fashion, becoming widely acknowledged as the world’s first male supermodel.

Richards appeared in hundreds of campaigns and worked alongside leading figures in fashion, including Cindy Crawford and Fabio. He was photographed by many of the industry’s most influential photographers, including Bruce Weber, Richard Avedon, Helmut Newton, Steven Meisel, Horst, and Albert Watson.

Among the defining moments of his career were his breakthrough campaign for designer Jeffrey Banks, photographed by Bruce Weber, and his runway debut for Versace on the Spanish Steps in Rome. He went on to collaborate with some of fashion’s most influential houses of the time —including Ralph Lauren, Gianfranco Ferré, Donna Karan, and Versace—appearing in major campaigns and editorials around the world.

His most memorable achievements was a 58-page editorial devoted entirely to him in Mondo Uomo, an extraordinary showcase at a time when male models were still largely overshadowed by the emerging generation of female supermodels.

Hoyt Richards' modeling career took him around the world, exposing him to different cultures, people, and experiences that became as meaningful as the work itself. His distinctive presence, international career, and collaborations with the industry's most influential designers and photographers helped establish a new era of visibility for male models in fashion.
