    Xavier Scott Marshall is a first-generation Trinidadian-American artist born and based in New York. His photographs have been commissioned by NIKE, Tommy Hilfiger, Everlane, Harper’s Bazaar, Document Journal, Rolling Stone, CircleZeroEight, among other publications and brands, oftentimes working with high-profile talent. Xavier's hand-processed film images bear the blemishes inherent to the medium, as scratches and marks eloquently speak to the honesty and fragility of both his artistic process and the subjects captured within his photographs. Drawing inspiration from contemporary black life, Xavier skillfully traces the lines of the past to construct a new perspective, attempting to unravel the colonial violence embedded in image-making and its profound impact on our perception of the world.
