    Born in Buffalo, New York, Beverly Johnson became, at 22, the first black woman on the covers of American Vogue and Elle France. Her warm features and bright smile coined her as the “supergirl next door”. Starred in Michael Jackson’s “Liberian Girl” music video. She studied Criminal Justice at Northeastern University alongside her modeling career, later establishing a fruitful career in acting and launching a million-dollar wig company. Mother to Anansa.
