What happens at a go-see
- It's quick. Most go-sees last 5–15 minutes: you arrive, introduce yourself, hand over your comp card and show your portfolio.
- They look at you, not a performance. The client checks your current look, height and measurements against your portfolio, and how you carry yourself.
- You may be asked to walk or take digitals. Some go-sees include a short walk or fresh phone photos ("digitals") with minimal makeup.
- It's usually unpaid. A go-see is a meeting, not a booking — you are not paid to attend, though your agency arranges and tracks each one.
Go-see vs casting vs open call
The three are easy to mix up. The simple distinction:
- Go-see — a general meet-and-greet for future work; no specific job on the table.
- Casting — an audition for a specific job, campaign or show being cast right now.
- Open call — a scheduled window when an agency or client will see anyone who shows up, no appointment needed.

How to prepare for a go-see
- Bring an up-to-date comp card and portfolio (printed or on your phone).
- Wear simple, fitted clothing and natural makeup — clients want to see you.
- Know your current measurements and be ready to state them.
- Arrive on time and be polite: go-sees are booked and tracked by your agency, and reliability gets noticed.
