    A self-taught artist, Giovanna Martial grew up in an environment shaped by Theatre and Opera scenography. From an early age, she was immersed in the backstage world of sets and film shoots, developing an instinctive relationship with space, the body, and staging. Influenced by contemporary Art and cinematic culture, she has forged a practice in which images are constructed through a precise attention to materials, volumes, and colors. These elements are used to create sets with a strong presence—distinctive and immediately recognizable. She now collaborates with fashion houses such as Jil Sander, Maison Alaïa, Max Mara, and Bottega Veneta. Far removed from purely decorative approaches, Giovanna Martial embraces a sensitive and instinctive conception of space - one considered as a full-fledged actor within the image, capable of engaging in dialogue with the body, the garment, and gesture.
