How to choose an agency
No fees to sign
A real agency is paid a commission on the work it books. Registration fees, compulsory paid courses and a mandatory in-house photographer are the standard warning signs.
Look at the board, not the promise
Open the agency's own site and see who it actually represents and which clients those models shoot for. A board full of recent work is worth more than any pitch.
Match the market
High fashion, commercial, curve and talent boards want different things. A mother agency in your city that places you abroad often beats a distant big name.
