How to choose an agency
No fees to sign
A real agency is paid a commission on the work it books. Registration fees, compulsory paid courses and a mandatory in-house photographer are the standard warning signs.
Look at the board, not the promise
Open the agency's own site and see who it actually represents and which clients those models shoot for. A board full of recent work is worth more than any pitch.
Match the market
High fashion, commercial, curve and talent boards want different things. A mother agency in your city that places you abroad often beats a distant big name.

- How do I get signed by a runway agency?
- Submit digitals — unretouched full-length, waist-up and face shots with no makeup — plus your measurements, through the agency's own form or open call; every agency here is listed with its website. Runway boards work to the fittings: sample measurements, walk and the discipline of a season schedule, which is why they scout hardest in the weeks before the shows.
- Do runway agencies charge models a fee?
- No legitimate agency charges for representation, whatever its specialty: it takes a commission on the jobs it books, usually around 20%. A demand to pay up front for a portfolio, a "registration" or training is the standard scam pattern, and it is just as common around runway work as anywhere else.
